About Sky Trails

Who we are, where we are, and how we work.

Who are Sky Trails Travel Agency?

Sky Trails Travel Agency is a full-service travel agency based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, arranging domestic tours across India, pilgrimage yatras, and international holidays.

We handle the whole journey rather than just selling tickets: flights, hotels, visas, ground transport, insurance and forex, with one coordinator assigned to each traveller from first enquiry through to the return home. Our office is at 414, 4th Floor, Nalanda Icon, near Makarba Police Head Quarter, Ahmedabad 380051.

Where is Sky Trails located in Ahmedabad?

Sky Trails Travel Agency is at 414, 4th Floor, Nalanda Icon, near Makarba Police Head Quarter, Makarba, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380051.

You are welcome to visit the office to discuss a trip in person. Most customers prefer to start on WhatsApp or by phone on +91 875 875 2031 and only come in if they want to look at itineraries together.

Do I have to visit the office to book a trip?

No. Most Sky Trails bookings are completed entirely over WhatsApp, phone and email without any office visit.

We share itineraries and quotes digitally, collect documents by WhatsApp or email, and send tickets, vouchers and visa copies the same way. Customers outside Ahmedabad book with us regularly this way. If you would rather sit down and plan face to face, the office is open for that too.

What areas does Sky Trails cover?

Sky Trails arranges travel throughout India and to international destinations across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond.

Our three main streams are domestic India tours, pilgrimage yatras such as Char Dham and Tirupati, and international holidays including Dubai, Bali, Thailand, Singapore and Europe. If a destination is not listed on the site, ask us — we can usually build it.

Is Sky Trails a registered travel agency?

Yes. Sky Trails Travel Agency operates as a registered travel business in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

If you need our registration details, GST number or any documentation for corporate or institutional bookings, contact us at info@skytrails.in and we will share the relevant paperwork.

Booking and Payment

How to book, what it costs, and how payment works.

How do I book a trip with Sky Trails?

Send us an enquiry by phone, WhatsApp or the contact form, and a coordinator will respond with a quote and itinerary, usually within one business day.

The usual sequence is: you tell us destination, dates and rough group size; we send an itemised itinerary and price; you confirm or ask for changes; you pay a deposit to hold the booking; we issue tickets, hotel vouchers and any visas. You can reach us on +91 875 875 2031 or info@skytrails.in.

How far in advance should I book a holiday?

For domestic trips, two to four weeks ahead is usually enough. For international holidays needing a visa, allow six to eight weeks. For peak season travel, book two to three months ahead.

Peak periods in India include Diwali, Christmas and New Year, school summer holidays in May and June, and the Char Dham yatra season. During these windows both flights and hotels sell out early and prices climb sharply, so earlier booking saves real money as well as securing availability.

How much deposit is needed to confirm a booking?

Deposit amounts vary by trip type and how close the departure date is, so we confirm the exact figure in your written quote before you pay anything.

As a general pattern, package tours take a part-payment to confirm with the balance due before departure, while air tickets and some hotel rates require full payment at the time of issue because the airline or hotel charges us immediately. Your quote will always state the deposit, the balance, and the date the balance is due.

What payment methods does Sky Trails accept?

We accept bank transfer, UPI, and other standard Indian payment methods. Specific options are confirmed with your booking.

Pay only into the account details that come from our official channels, and ask us to confirm by phone if anything about a payment request looks unusual. We will always issue a receipt for money received.

Will I get an itemised quote before paying?

Yes. Every Sky Trails quote itemises what is included and what is not before you pay anything.

You will see the hotel category, room type, meal plan, vehicle type, which sightseeing and entry fees are covered, and what falls outside the package. We would rather have a longer conversation up front than have you discover a cost at the destination.

Can I customise a package instead of taking a fixed itinerary?

Yes. Most Sky Trails bookings are custom-built rather than fixed departures.

Tell us the destination, your dates, how many people are travelling, roughly what you want to spend, and anything that matters — elderly parents, small children, dietary needs, a particular temple or sight you must see — and we will build the itinerary around that. Published packages are starting points you are free to change.

Flights and Tickets

Air ticketing, fares, baggage and changes.

Can Sky Trails book domestic and international flights?

Yes. Sky Trails books both domestic Indian flights and international flights on all major airlines.

We handle one-way, return, multi-city and round-the-world itineraries, in economy, premium economy and business class. Because we book through travel-trade systems we can sometimes access fares and group rates that do not appear on public booking sites.

Is it cheaper to book flights through a travel agent?

Sometimes, but not always — and the honest answer is that the real value is usually in service rather than headline price.

Agents can access negotiated and group fares that consumer sites do not show, which often helps for groups of ten or more and for complex multi-city routes. On simple point-to-point domestic routes, public fares are frequently competitive. Where an agent genuinely earns their keep is when a flight is cancelled, a connection is missed or a schedule changes, and a person handles the rebooking for you instead of a call queue.

What baggage allowance will I get?

Baggage allowance depends entirely on the airline, route and fare class you book, so check the allowance stated on your ticket rather than assuming a standard.

As a rough guide, Indian domestic economy fares typically include one checked bag plus cabin baggage, while international allowances vary widely and low-cost carriers often sell checked baggage separately. We state the allowance on your itinerary, and can pre-purchase extra baggage, which is almost always cheaper than paying at the airport.

What happens if my flight is cancelled or delayed?

Contact your Sky Trails coordinator immediately and we will work on rebooking while you are still at the airport.

That is the practical advantage of booking through an agency rather than direct: you are not queuing at a counter or waiting in a call centre line. Your coordinator’s number is on your itinerary and reachable outside office hours. Refund or compensation eligibility depends on the airline’s policy and the reason for the disruption, and we will tell you honestly what is recoverable.

Can you book seats together for a family or group?

Yes. Tell us at the time of booking and we will request seats together, which is far easier to arrange at ticketing than afterwards.

Some airlines charge for advance seat selection and some allocate free at check-in, so the outcome depends on the carrier and fare. Groups travelling together are best booked as a single reservation, which is another reason to confirm your full passenger list early.

Visa and Documents

Visa processing, paperwork and passport questions.

Does Sky Trails help with visa applications?

Yes. Sky Trails provides visa assistance for a wide range of destinations, including document preparation, application forms, appointment booking and interview guidance.

We tell you exactly which documents your case needs, check them before submission, book the consulate or VFS appointment, and prepare you for an interview where one is required. Visa decisions are always made by the embassy or consulate, never by an agent — anyone promising a guaranteed visa is misleading you.

How long does a visa take to process?

Processing time depends on the country. Schengen visas are typically decided within about 15 calendar days of the appointment and can take up to 45 days in complex cases; UAE tourist visas are often issued in a few working days; US and UK visas depend heavily on appointment availability, which can be the longest part of the wait.

Because appointment slots rather than processing is usually the bottleneck, start the visa process as early as your travel plans allow. We will give you a realistic timeline for your specific destination when you enquire.

What documents do I need for a tourist visa?

Requirements vary by country, but most tourist visa applications ask for a passport valid at least six months beyond travel, passport photographs to a specified size, completed application forms, proof of funds such as recent bank statements, confirmed flight and hotel bookings, and evidence of ties to India such as employment or business proof.

Some countries add requirements — income tax returns, a covering letter, travel insurance, or a sponsor letter for visits to family. We send you a checklist built for your specific case rather than a generic list, because the wrong document is the most common cause of avoidable delay.

Which countries can Indian passport holders visit without a visa?

A number of countries offer visa-free entry, visa on arrival, or electronic travel authorisation to Indian passport holders, but these lists change regularly and depend on your passport type and purpose of travel.

Because the rules genuinely do change from year to year, always confirm the current position before booking rather than relying on an article. Tell us where you want to go and we will check the current requirement for your passport, and arrange the visa if one is needed.

What happens if my visa is refused?

If a visa is refused, we help you understand the stated reason and advise on whether reapplying makes sense and what should change in the new application.

Visa fees paid to the embassy are generally not refundable, and refusal is a decision of that government which no agent can overturn. What we can do is make sure a second application addresses whatever caused the first refusal, and advise honestly if we think a reapplication is unlikely to succeed. Refusal history should always be disclosed in later applications.

How long must my passport be valid to travel?

Most countries require your passport to remain valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry, and to have at least two blank pages.

Check yours well ahead of booking. Passport renewal in India can take a few weeks, and a passport expiring inside the six-month window is one of the most common reasons travellers are refused boarding at the airport.

Holiday Packages

Custom itineraries, inclusions and group sizes.

What is included in a Sky Trails holiday package?

Inclusions vary by package, but a typical Sky Trails tour covers hotel accommodation, transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, sightseeing as listed in the itinerary, and the meal plan stated in your quote.

What is usually excluded: airfare unless specified, personal expenses, entry tickets not listed, tips, and anything the itinerary does not name. Every quote spells out both lists so there is no ambiguity at the destination.

What group size do your tours run at?

This depends on the package. Some group departures have a stated minimum, such as the South India yatra which runs with a minimum of ten travellers, while private and custom tours run for a single family.

Smaller groups mean less waiting, more flexibility on timing, and a guide who can actually attend to everyone. Where a package has a minimum group size, the quote will say so clearly.

Do you arrange honeymoon and family packages?

Yes. Sky Trails arranges honeymoon trips, family holidays, senior citizen tours, corporate travel and group departures.

These need genuinely different planning. A honeymoon itinerary is paced for two people who want privacy; a family trip with grandparents and small children needs shorter travel days, ground-floor rooms and sensible meal timings. Tell us who is travelling and we will build accordingly.

Can you plan trips for elderly parents?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do — particularly for pilgrimage travel.

For senior travellers we plan shorter driving stretches with regular breaks, hotels close to the temple or main sight, ground-floor or lift-accessible rooms, comfortable vehicles rather than the cheapest option, and where relevant, helicopter segments to avoid difficult climbs. Tell us about mobility limitations, dietary needs or medical considerations at the enquiry stage so they shape the itinerary from the start.

Do you handle corporate travel and offsites?

Yes. Sky Trails arranges corporate travel including offsites, incentive trips, conference travel and group bookings.

Corporate work usually needs coordinated flights for people leaving from different cities, room allocation across a group, meeting space, and consolidated billing with proper GST documentation. Contact us at info@skytrails.in with your dates and headcount for a proposal.

Pilgrimage and Yatra

Char Dham, Tirupati, Rameshwaram and other sacred journeys.

Does Sky Trails arrange Char Dham Yatra?

Yes. Sky Trails arranges Char Dham Yatra covering Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, including accommodation, transport, and helicopter segments where required.

We plan these trips carefully around the age and fitness of the group, because the terrain is demanding. That means realistic daily distances, hotels positioned to reduce walking, and honest advice about which stretches a particular traveller may find difficult.

When is the Char Dham Yatra season?

The Char Dham shrines in Uttarakhand open around late April or May and close around late October or November, with exact dates announced each year according to the Hindu calendar and weather conditions.

The temples close for winter because of snow, so travel outside this window is not possible. The monsoon months of July and August bring landslide risk and road closures in the region, which is why many travellers prefer May, June, September or October. Confirm the current year’s opening dates before you make firm plans.

Can you arrange helicopter darshan for Kedarnath?

Yes, subject to availability, weather and the operating rules in force that season.

Helicopter services are in heavy demand and slots are limited, so book as early as possible. Flights are weather-dependent and can be cancelled at short notice, which is entirely outside any agency’s control — we plan itineraries with that possibility in mind rather than assuming the helicopter will definitely fly.

What other pilgrimage tours do you arrange?

Beyond Char Dham, Sky Trails arranges Tirupati Balaji darshan, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Madurai Meenakshi temple, Somnath, Dwarka, Ambaji, Shirdi, Vaishno Devi and other sacred destinations across India.

Our South India yatra combines Madurai, Kodaikanal, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari and Kovalam over seven days. If you have a specific temple circuit in mind, tell us and we will build the route.

Do you arrange special darshan tickets?

Where a temple offers a special or paid darshan facility, we help arrange it — Tirupati being the most common request.

Availability is controlled by the temple trust, not by us, and rules change from time to time. We will tell you honestly what can be arranged in advance and what depends on conditions on the day. For elderly pilgrims, the reduced queuing that special darshan allows often makes a substantial difference.

Hotels and Transport

Accommodation, vehicles and on-ground arrangements.

What standard of hotels do you book?

We book across the full range, from budget properties to five-star hotels, and the category is always stated in your quote before you pay.

For pilgrimage travel we often prioritise location over star rating, because a simpler hotel five minutes from the temple usually serves an elderly pilgrim better than a luxury property forty minutes away. We will explain the trade-off rather than just quoting the cheapest option.

Can I request specific room arrangements?

Yes. Tell us at booking and we will request what you need — adjoining rooms for a family, a ground-floor room for someone with mobility difficulty, a particular view, or a quiet room away from the lift.

These are requests to the hotel rather than guarantees, and confirmation usually depends on availability at check-in. Requests made at booking succeed far more often than requests made on arrival.

What vehicles do you use for road travel?

Vehicle type is matched to group size and route: sedans and SUVs for small groups, tempo travellers for mid-sized groups, and buses for larger ones.

Vehicles used for tourist travel carry the appropriate commercial permits and insurance. Your quote states the vehicle type so you know what you are getting, and for long routes we brief drivers in advance on meal stops, prayer breaks and any specific needs in the group.

Do you arrange airport transfers?

Yes. Airport and railway station transfers can be included in any package or booked separately.

For late-night arrivals in an unfamiliar city, a pre-arranged transfer with a named driver is worth the small cost. We share the driver’s name and number ahead of arrival so you are not searching for a taxi at 2am.

Insurance and Forex

Travel insurance, foreign currency and travel cards.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is mandatory for some destinations, including Schengen visa applications, and strongly advisable everywhere else.

The case for it is simple: a medical emergency abroad can cost many times more than the holiday itself, and the policy typically also covers trip cancellation, lost baggage and passport assistance. We can arrange cover, including plans for senior travellers, pre-existing conditions and adventure activities, and we will explain what a policy does and does not cover before you buy.

Can Sky Trails arrange foreign currency?

Yes. Sky Trails arranges foreign currency and prepaid multi-currency travel cards through authorised money changers.

Airport exchange counters typically offer among the worst rates available, so arranging currency before you travel usually saves a meaningful amount on a family holiday. We will also help you decide the sensible split between cash, travel card and cards you will swipe abroad.

How much foreign currency should I carry?

There is no single right answer — it depends on the destination, trip length and how much of your spending is already prepaid.

A practical approach is to carry a modest amount of local cash for taxis, tips and small vendors, put the bulk on a prepaid travel card locked at a known exchange rate, and keep a regular card as backup. Card acceptance varies a lot between countries, so ask us about your specific destination. Note also that India has regulatory limits on foreign exchange for travel, which we will explain when arranging your forex.

Support, Changes and Cancellations

What happens when plans change.

What support do I get while I am travelling?

Every Sky Trails traveller gets a coordinator reachable by phone and WhatsApp for the duration of the trip, including outside office hours.

This matters most when something goes wrong — a missed connection, a hotel problem, a medical issue, a lost document. You reach the same person who handled your booking rather than an unfamiliar call centre. The number is on your itinerary.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms depend on the specific airlines, hotels and suppliers in your booking, so the applicable policy is set out in your written quote and confirmation before you pay.

Airline and hotel cancellation rules are set by those suppliers, not by us, and non-refundable fares or rates are common at lower price points. We will tell you at the quote stage which parts of your booking are refundable and which are not, so you can decide knowingly. If flexibility matters to you, say so and we will price a more flexible option.

Can I change my travel dates after booking?

Often yes, but whether a change is possible and what it costs depends on the fare rules and supplier terms attached to your specific booking.

Contact your coordinator as early as possible — changes made well ahead of departure are usually cheaper and more likely to be possible than last-minute ones. We will check what each element of your booking allows and come back with the options and costs before changing anything.

What happens if I lose my passport while abroad?

Contact your Sky Trails coordinator immediately, and report the loss to the local police and the nearest Indian embassy or consulate.

You will normally need a police report to obtain an emergency certificate or replacement travel document from the mission. We help by coordinating from this end — adjusting onward bookings, liaising with hotels, and guiding you through the steps. Carrying a photocopy or phone photograph of your passport, kept separately from the original, makes the replacement process considerably faster.

How quickly does Sky Trails respond to enquiries?

We aim to respond to enquiries within one business day, and usually faster during office hours.

For anything urgent, WhatsApp or phone on +91 875 875 2031 reaches us fastest. Travellers already on a trip take priority — if you are away and something has gone wrong, call rather than email.
